Cultivating the Mindful Spirit with Sound – Online Seminar with Peter Gabis

A wide range of scientific research is currently exploring the positive effects of meditation and mindfulness, opening up a vast field where science and spirituality meet. This seminar conveys the basic concepts of mindfulness practice and meditation, which originate primarily from Buddhist teachings. Thanks to visionaries such as Jon Kabat-Zinn, Richard Davidson, and Jack Kornfield, these ideas have also found their way into the Western world and even into medical contexts over the past decades. Sound work is inherently characterized by a high degree of mindfulness, as sounds naturally bring us quickly into a state of conscious awareness. Thus, the sounds of singing bowls and gongs are especially well suited to support mindfulness practice and meditation. A variety of practical exercises and guided meditations will accompany us throughout the weekend, exploring the effects of sound on cultivating a mindful mind.
